GUIdancer goes mobile; Jubula joins e4

Press release from: Bredex GmbH

Version 7.0 of GUIdancer and a standalone release of Jubula (2.0, Kepler preview) have been released today. The cross-platform automated GUI test tools both contain support for the Eclipse e4 platform, and GUIdancer now also offers testing for iOS applications.

“With these releases, we’ve gone in two very different, but equally exciting directions.” said Achim Lörke, Project Lead and Managing Director at BREDEX GmbH. “Both new toolkits are important to our users and customers, as well as to our own projects – we’ve already been successfully working with GUIdancer and Jubula development builds to test BREDEX customer projects.”

Jubula, the Open Source functional testing project hosted at the Eclipse Foundation, now boasts robust test automation for applications whose interfaces are written in Swing, SWT/RCP (Eclipse versions 3.x-4.x), GEF, and HTML. GUIdancer, BREDEX’s commercial tool, extends Jubula to include more benefits and options for testers and test managers, and now also offers two additional toolkits: .NET and iOS.

For all of the supported applications, both tools apply the same basic principle: robust, intelligent tests can be automated by any team member with no programming effort required.

The releases are available from the BREDEX website (GUIdancer 7.0) [1] and from the Eclipse Jubula Project Page [2] (Jubula 2.0). Users interested in testing the iOS support in GUIdancer can request a demo license for 30 days. BREDEX offers professional support, training and consulting for both tools. Further information is available on the BREDEX website.
