liquidFOLDERS now with timeline view
Timeline view in liquidFOLDERS
The most prominent addition is a timeline view (picture) that displays all local files chronologically. This is especially useful for browsing pictures. In addition, the new version delivers some minor improvements, and is even more user-friendly than previous releases.
"Our team is working on a whole bunch of new featues", says Dr. Konstantin Koll, the company's CEO and CTO. "We've always said that the relational file system liquidFOLDERS is not just a product, but a whole new platform. We're currently working on version 2.0, that will build onto this promise." Until then, the company plans to add and release minor upgrades to their software.
The liquidFOLDERS project was launched in Dortmund in April 2009, with an eXist seed grant and formal incorporation of the liquidFOLDERS UG in March 2010.
Flagship product is liquidFOLDERS, a new file system for Microsoft Windows that doesn't keep files in fixed directories, but in "Stores". liquidFOLDERS can filter, group and visualize all files in a store using a very fast index. This allows the user to easily arrange all files to suit his current needs. The software is available as shareware since July 1st, 2011.
In addition, the liquidFOLDERS UG (limited liability) continues to add further products to its portfolio. The newest aquisition is Flightmap, an application for visualizing and analyzing flight plans.
