Reco Metal Powder releases ultra fine and highly conductive copper powders for laser-based Additive Manufacturing

Reco Metal Powder is producing metal powders for additive manufacturing for almost two years now. Reco Metal Powder is using a lossless and chemical free process recycling electronic waste like copper, steel, aluminum. All incredients that were used during the production of electric or electronic components are recycled and are made available for production again. This is truly a circle of materials in a full cradle2cradle approach.
Reco Metal Powder has several locations in Germany, two of them are located in Bavaria and they will open a new site in the UK in March `21 as they see high demand for their solutions in the UK as well. CEO Rudolf von Stokar says: ‚As 30% of the electronic waste consists of copper it was only logical that we have focussed on the production of copper powder in the beginning.' During the past two years Reco Metal Powder have optimized their process of recycling e-waste and they now are able to produce pure metal powders in a purity of up to 99,99998% (6N8) and in a fineness of up to 20 nano.
Their recycled metal powders are widely used in additive manufacturing in Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) machines. Their materials have been tested with most of the 3D printing manufacturers and the feedback there was very positive. Typically their customers are using copper powders in qualities of 99,5-99,995% and in a fineness of 10-60 µm (micron). 'We also recycle the 'waste' that is created during 3D printing, means stabilizers or unused powders, and bring them back into the production cycle again and again' says Rudolf Stokar.
In addition Reco Metal Powder can offer a wide range of metal powders like stainless steel 316L or aluminum or other alloys.
What they really are proud of is their newest product: high conductivity copper powders! Reco Metal Powder is introducing a special alloy which sees high demand for electrical cars that has a conductivity of 125% compared to pure copper powder. You can imagine that there is a extreme high demand in these materials also coming from other industries.
