CEAT wins 1st prize by Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Tree Authority of India towards the best maintained traffic island gardens
25th Feb 2013, Mumbai: CEAT Ltd, an RPG Enterprises company and one of India’s leading tyre manufacturers was awarded the 1st prize by Tree Authority of India and Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai towards the best maintained traffic island gardens above 200 sqm during the 18th Annual exhibition, flower show and garden competition.CEAT was also awarded 1st prize for best maintained Traffic Garden of Mumbai city by National Society of the friends of the trees during their “Fruit, vegetable and Flower show – 2013”.
Both awards were received for the Nariman Point Traffic Island maintained by CEAT Ltd. as part of its CSR initiatives targeted towards protecting the environment.
CEAT is an environmentally responsible company. Towards this end, CEAT also undertakes various initiatives like recycling wastes, reducing usage of plastic and installation Rain Water Harvesting & Sewage Water Re-cycling at its plants and corporate houses.
As part of its CSR initiative, RPG Enterprises has formally submitted a city beautification proposal to BMC in September 2012 for which the entire cost will be borne by the company.
