Reach Your Destination Sooner through Shorter Ways

The 100 millionth shipment via AX4: a shipping order by GO! - GO! Express &Logistics brings shipping handling to perfection via web-based IT solution by AX4 / Cloud technology allows for customer-friendly services

Frankenthal/Bonn, 11th February 2013 - In order to make shipping of time-sensitive shipments for customers as easy and safe as possible GO! Express & Logistics bets on cloud computing. Together with AXIT AG the Bonn-based express and transport provider has established an IT portal which shortens ways to shipment-related information and services.

While initially configured for electronic shipment entry and tracking under the name of „GO! Order & Track“ GO! Express & Logistics has enhanced the cloud-based portal together with their IT partner AXIT to become a service platform which was continuously further enhanced by additional services. „Our express service today begins with easy and quick access to our portfolio of services“, says GO! managing director Ulrich Nolte whose goal it was to use cloud technology to make shipping with GO! even more customer-friendly. „These technological service options make it easier today to differentiate yourself from the competition and thus to gain customers.“

For example, GO! customers can retrieve information on the current status of their shipment by iPhone at any time or – in the opposite direction – be informed on shipment status and delivery time by SMS. Even the consignee’s signature is displayed to the customer in the tracking view today. „GO! customers have a good view on all shipment-related processes and can avoid time-consuming research“, explains Frauke Heistermann, member of AXIT management. Add to this an optimization of processes: the IT solution helps to avoid multiple data entry and to secure the quality of data through built-in check routines.

The 100 millionth shipment via AX4: a shipping order from GO!

In order to flexibly adapt the service portal’s functions GO! uses the „electronic toolbox“ provided by AXIT, the design and development tool AX4 Open. Online feedback on the data’s processing status is provided by the AX4 web service. The express provider’s customers who send their data to the system receive a confirmation on processing by web service.

„All registered customers can now control all processes around their shipping volumes with one single software application. And not only in the office or at home but thanks to AX4’s GO! app also mobile via iPhone and iPad“, says Nolte.

With over 100,000 users AX4 is Europe’s leading IT platform on controlling of delivery chains. A few days ago AXIT AG recorded the 100 millionth shipment on their platform: a shipping order which was handled by GO!‘s Freiburg station.
