MAGE SOLAR SVP Sylvia Minton appointed to U.S. Department of Commerce Advisory Committee
Sylvia Minton, Senior Vice President for Corporate, Institutional & Government Affairs appointed by Acting Secretary of Commerce to serve on the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory CommitteeDublin (Georgia), February 6, 2013. – MAGE SOLAR, a turn-key provider of optimally coordinated PV-system solutions, announced today that Sylvia Minton, the company’s Senior Vice President for Corporate, Institutional & Government Affairs has been appointed to serve on the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee (RE&EEAC) at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The Committee’s core task is to advise the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce on competitiveness issues confronting the export of U.S. renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. Other duties involve recommendations on the development and administration of U.S. Government programs and policies aiding the development of a strong renewable energy industry that is able to compete internationally.
The 35 members composing the Committee represent U.S. companies, trade associations, and private sector organizations from the renewable energy sector with a proven focus on the competitiveness of U.S. renewable energy and energy efficiency goods and services. The RE&EE Advisory Committee is part of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Export Initiative (RE4I) in 2010. In its interagency role RE4I and the RE&EE both aim to support the President’s National Export Initiative.

She is also a member of the Board of Directors at MAGE SOLAR ACADEMY which is a premiere learning arena for accomplished professionals in and newcomers to the PV industry.
Besides her latest appointment to the RE&EE Advisory Committee Ms. Minton serves on several committees and boards at well respected state and national organizations, for example the German American Chamber of Commerce, The Solar Energy Industry Association, and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Minton is also the author of two books, a sought-after speaker and columnist in additional to being a successful entrepreneur in her own right.
