In 25 years of existence, SECUDE has evolved from a startup to a global security solutions provider. Its solutions are trusted by many Fortune 500 and DAX listed companies and it has branches in Europe, North America, and Asia. Making customers understand the high risk of data loss from malicious insiders and external threat actors was the biggest challenge before the company. While most data security personnel are aware of the risk, they had the overwhelming feeling that their data was always safe. It was a herculean task to make them understand that despite conventional security paradigms, critical data is largely at risk.

SECUDE product development which began with a ‘Single sign-on’ (SSO) for SAP (which was later acquired by SAP in 2011) has steadily transformed and now the company offers automated data security and protection based on Zero Trust strategy with little or no user interference.

“Founded by SAP and Fraunhofer Institute in the mid-‘90s, I am proud to be the CEO for the past 20 years supporting the continuing drive for SECUDE to create unique and key IT security solutions and products. This was only possible with highly motivated, skilled, and leading security engineers. While focus and technologies have evolved and advanced over the years, our people power had migrated into other companies and carried on to innovate in other fields, a core team from the founding years is still with us. Over the years, we created the first solutions in the global market for e-mail, file, and folder encryption in the mid-‘90s. We developed the security library underneath SAP NetWeaver and the backend SAP server to server encryption. It is still today in action.

In early 2000 we developed SSO for SAP and added smart cards. Our SECUDE team created probably the best hard drive encryption in the world while SAP acquired needed core technologies from SECUDE in 2011, the balance of technologies was sold 2014 to Novell.
