Munich Innovation Group Announces Availability of Medical US Patent Family for Measuring Method for Hemodynamic Parameters

Press release from: Munich Innovation Group GmbH

Munich, Germany (January 2013) – Munich Innovation announces the availability of a medical US patent family protecting an impedance-based measuring method for hemodynamic parameters.

The US patent family covers a technology for noninvasive measurement of hemodynamic parameters such as stroke volume and ejection fraction offering exceptional value in the highly contested medical equipment field where risk mitigation and cost are essential.

The primary purpose of hemodynamic monitoring is the early detection and identification of life-threatening conditions such as heart failure and cardiac tamponade.

“Different measurement methods have been proposed in the past,” says Dr. Stefan Taing, Senior Partner at Munich Innovation, “including invasive and noninvasive technologies such as catheters, echocardiography, or CO2 rebreathing.”

“However, each of the mentioned methods has its own drawbacks either because of the strict operating condition or the high cost and risk from invasive measurements. This patented technology overcomes the above drawbacks by means of impedance cardiography due to the noninvasive nature and the applicability to patients under all medical conditions” says Dr. Taing.

Munich Innovation will be approaching potential buyers and providing materials explaining the strategic advantages of acquiring the US patent family. In addition, the patent owner and Munich Innovation’s medical experts will be available to discuss the patent in detail.
