Mobile Solutions and Technologies

First speaker highlights: experts from Gruner + Jahr, Deutsche Telekom, Millennial Media, Microsoft, Adidas, Bitkom, Goldmedia, Sybase, SAP, GS1 Germany and many others will all be there

On 5 and 6 February 2013, we shall again be in full swing; visitors to the eight M-Days in Frankfurt can look forward to a large number of
top-flight speakers from Gruner + Jahr, Deutsche Telekom, Millennial Media, Microsoft, Adidas, Bitkom, Goldmedia and many more. Mobiles are present everywhere and the congress is devoted to the five major core themes: Strategy, Marketing, Media, Commerce and Enterprise in more than eleven specialist forums and with over 120 speakers from inside and outside Germany.

In his keynote speech on the second day of the M-Days, David Gosen, European Managing Director Digital, Online & Mobile from Nielsen, will present his insights into the behaviours and attitudes of users of mobile devices as they relate to entertainment, every-day life and professional situations. It has emerged, for instance, in the “Category & Brand Performance” section, from the 2012 edition of the annual German Smartphone Insight Report from Nielsen, that 90 per cent of Germans over 16 who use the internet possess at least one mobile phone. The proportion of smartphones amongst them is currently around 30 per cent. The trend is upwards, as more and more users in Germany learn to appreciate the functionality of the smartphone. And the impact of mobile devices is also being felt in companies.

Stephanie de Bodinat is responsible for Adidas’ global mobile strategy. It was not least the “Bring your own device” trend in the company that started the move towards mobiles - and this has brought with it a complete rethink and an adherence to the medium. In the keynote discussions, Stephanie de Bodinat will talk to speakers such as Gavin Stirrat, Managing Director EMEA from Millennial Media and Lars-Christian Weisswange, Vice President Western Europe from Huawei, about various aspects of the impact that mobile technology is having on the market and on companies themselves. Aspects such as the all-pervasiveness of mobile applications in business models, as well as the integration of apps, mobile internet and cloud services and new ways of interacting with customers, partners and colleagues will all form part of the discussions. This fascinating series of discussions will be chaired by Mark Wächter, Chairman of MobileMondays.

The relationship between mobile strategies and applications will be looked at critically and in detail on the first day of the congress. Are
apps and mobile strategies really necessary? What are the best appmarketing platforms? Which strategic approaches get the best advantage from mobile applications? The panel will concentrate on the status quo in the field of mobile applications management for IT and marketing organisations, will make clear how mobile application strategies can be deployed and what a successful app marketing approach can look like with respect to both the company and the end customer. Experts from, for example, Appseleration, Trademob and Smart Mobile Factory will throw light on the topic from all sides.

Specialists from Gruner + Jahr, Bitkom and Goldmedia will be discussing topics in the worlds of marketing and media, with panels focussing on mobile marketing and mobile print, as well as on the moving image and the ‘second screen’. The ‘Enterprise’ section has been set up with, amongst others, Deutsche Telekom, Ford and SAP around the topics of Business Solutions and M2M. In cooperation with marketing and content partners of M-Days, GS1 Germany,
topics such as mobile commerce, couponing, payment, wallet and trusted data will be discussed at the congress by experts from PayPal, Vodafone, Kraft Foods, E-Plus, Coupies and acardo.
