Dr. Heiko Dörr Joins Model Engineering Solutions GmbH Management as Third Executive Director

With the appointment of Dr. Heiko Dörr as third Executive Director, Model Engineering Solutions opens a Project Management business unit and lays the foundation stone for further growth.

Berlin, 4 December 2012 – From 9 November 2012, Dr. Heiko Dörr joins the management board of Model Engineering Solutions GmbH. In his new position, Dr. Dörr is responsible for the company’s Project Management business unit, which pools resources for the management of external projects. He leads a team of project managers and assistants specialized in the managements of multilateral projects. This know-how will serve also for the implementation of comprehensive change processes in organizations from the field of software development. Model Engineering Solutions will thereby augment the effectiveness of its software tool palette.

After completing a doctorate in Computer Science, Dr. Dörr worked in the software technology lab of a major German OEM from 1995. In this position, he developed new methods and tools for model-based development of embedded systems. In the past six years Dr. Dörr has acted as Project Manager in various international standardization projects in the automotive industry. As Technical Manager for AUTOSAR, he designed core processes for conducting the project, accompanied the strategic alignment, and managed technical operations. From 2010, Dr. Dörr assisted in setting up the e-vehicle charging plug initiative and has coordinated international standardization on e-vehicle charging plugs on the part of OEMs.

Dr. Dörr’s many years’ industry experience and operational expertise in project management were decisive factors for his appointment as third Executive Director. Model Engineering Solutions is now in the ideal position to define complex change projects and implement them in a systematic manner. The company’s new Project Management business unit will make a vital contribution to the systematic introduction of products into customer process and tool chains.
