CHICAGO, IL -- Kerry Peck and Peck Bloom, LLC recently sponsored the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law Alumni Association 35th Annual Awards and Recognition Luncheon. The event is held every year to recognize alumni and friends of the College. Recipients are considered leaders in their field or serve Chicago-Kent and the legal community. The 2012 recognition luncheon was held on November 15 at The Standard Club, 320 S. Plymouth Court, Chicago, IL. It was hosted by the Chicago-Kent Alumni Board of Directors.

The $1,000 Kerry Peck donation was added to the Chicago-Kent Alumni Board Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship is "awarded annually to students who display financial need and academic merit and who best represent the ideals of engaged and active future alumni". The contribution made Peck Bloom and Kerry Peck a university sponsor at the event's Patron level.

"Peck Bloom has a long history with Chicago-Kent College of Law. Several of our attorneys are graduates of the College, including one of our founding members, Kenneth Bloom. It is due to our law school education that we've been able to help so many families and individuals over the years. Sponsoring events like this is just one way we feel we can give back to the place where it all started," explained Kerry Peck, Managing Partner, Peck Bloom LLC (http://www.peckbloom.com).

In addition to recognition of distinguished alumni and friends of the College, the luncheon honored those who had volunteered for the law school during the past year. Volunteers can be found performing mock interviews, sharing career advice with students, coaching Trial Ad teams or serving on an advisory board.

"We understand the struggles some students face in financing their legal education, but that shouldn't stand in the way of promising students fulfilling their dream of becoming an attorney. The fact that our contribution went towards the Scholarship Fund is one of the biggest reasons we contributed at the Patron level," noted Peck.

Since 1998, Peck Bloom has been meeting the legal needs of Chicago area seniors. The team of estate planning lawyers is skilled in litigation as well as estate and business planning. Over the years, they have grown to become one of the most respected elder law firms in the state while maintaining a team of legal professionals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to civic and bar leadership and volunteerism.

Along with the Kerry Peck donations, the College received the support of several other Chicago-area law firms and lawyers.
