Mozart Café Opens First Palm Beach County Location at Fountains Center in Boca Raton
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Mozart Café has opened its first Palm Beach County location within the Fountains Center office and retail park in central Boca Raton.Owner Shimi Avni, with his business development consultant Mike Zikri, have positioned the Boca Mozart Café as their flagship restaurant.
“We offer a Vegetarian, Pescetarian and Dairy Kosher menu featuring the freshest and best ingredients available, while also promoting healthy nutrition,” Zikri explained.
“Our cuisine is inspired and influenced by modern Israeli cuisine and its casual eating culture, suitable for any time of the day or night. In our Boca Raton location, we are proud to launch 28 new dishes and be part of a movement expanding the boundaries of the kosher dining experience, proving it is no longer limited to certain dishes or a certain type of restaurant.”
Including a bar and table seating indoors, as well as outdoor seating overlooking the Fountain Center’s central garden courtyard featuring water features and footbridges, the restaurant can accommodate 140 customers.
Some customers of Mozart Café from northern Broward and southern Palm Beach County became familiar with the eatery at its temporary location in Deerfield Beach, which opened in 2011 and preceded the Boca location. After the 5,000 square feet of space on the ground floor of building 7300 at Fountains Center underwent a custom build out to meet Mozart Café’s needs, the Deerfield Beach operation relocated to Boca Raton in October 2012. Other Mozart Cafés are in Hollywood and Sunny Isles Beach in South Florida. They opened in 2007 and early 2012 respectively.
Avni and Zikri noted that the Mozart brand is expanding rapidly, having recently introduced the new concept of Mozart Yogurt at Fountains Center as well. Avni plans additional locations for this brand within the coming year.
“Fountains Center has a great location, in the heart of Boca Raton where many of our patrons live in surrounding communities,” Avni said. “There are many religious residents in the area who observe kosher dietary laws, so Mozart Café is now nearby to serve them.”
“But you certainly don’t have to observe kosher laws to enjoy our family-friendly Mozart Café menu,” Zikri pointed out. “We serve healthy Israeli/Mediterranean fare that is freshly prepared daily. Our fish dishes, pastas, salads, pizzas, ethnic dishes (e.g., malawach, falafel) and other items satisfy any palate, and the generous portions are perfect for sharing or sampling multiple dishes. To complete the culinary experience, there are tantalizing desserts –from hot chocolate cake, tri-color mousse cake and cheese cake, to bittersweet whiskey cake, chocolate sofflé or fruit salad, as well as beer and wine.”
Together, Mozart Café and Mozart Yogurt at Fountains Center in Boca Raton employ a total of 30 persons.
Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to midnight, Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday evening from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Cimarosa and Perugini: Echoes of Mozart in "Il Matrimonio Segreto" release
Consider the stamina shown just over 230 years ago in Vienna, when after listening to a three-hour opera (presumably plus a pause between the two acts) Leopold II ordered the work to be repeated in its entirety after an interval for supper. Assuming at least an hour for this (probably longer), the evening’s entertainment must have extended over about nine hours – almost awe-inspiring in this sound-bite era of ours.…
A new CD release: Symphonies by Leopold Mozart
The rehabilitation of Mozart père, as man, has been going on for some time. His presentation in many popular accounts of the life of Wolfgang Amadeus, as callously exploitative and autocratic, as embittered by jealousy of his son’s genius, has been at the very least tempered, if not entirely refuted, by modern scholarship. We are in a better position, now, to recognise why, at the time of his death, his…
