New Hand held Rugged Design XRF has Totally Sealed Internal Electronics.

New developments for testing oil & fuel onboard vessels, handheld XRF light element analysis, new high-powered portable XRF technology, RoHS Screening of Electronics…

Woburn, MA--- Attendees at the 2007 Denver X-Ray Conference† will learn about the latest in portable XRF technology breaking through the boundaries of ordinary laboratory testing to bring the value of XRF analysis to more people and more applications.

Innov-X organized the Monday afternoon workshop: “Analysis of RoHS/WEEE Elements Workshop”. Members of the Innov-X team will also be instructing at the workshop.

The R&D Group of Innov-X will be presenting three papers:

“Portable XRF with a Vacuum Beam Path Allows Detection of Lighter Elements”

“EDXRF Analysis of Oils, Fuels and Other Fluids, On Board Marine Vessels”

“Field Portable XRF Beyond Traditional Handheld Analyzers”

NEW X-50 Mobile XRF high-powered, portable XRF: the ultimate benchtop XRF featuring 10X or more the power of handhelds now in a mobile package. Test Cd down to 1ppm in many sample types, 10 ppm in alloys. This is ideal for RoHS Packaging Directive which requires sum of Cd, Hg, Pb, Cr less than 100ppm.

NEW Inspector Series™ XRF for testing lead content in solder and parts, with the simplest configuration of any handheld XRF.

Innov-X Systems Portable X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analyzers are easy-to-use and effective screening tools that can go virtually anywhere. They can alert users to banned metals, using pass or fail criteria. They will document total Cr, Br, Pb, Hg, and Cd. In just seconds, prohibited materials may be identified and quantified. They provide test solutions for RoHS screening of electronics in just seconds.

Innov-X’s breakthrough Handheld XRF design uses an x-ray tube in a compact unit. The Ultimate in Customer Choice: The Classic Removable PDA model or the Ultra-Rugged Weatherproof totally sealed internal electronics model. Both models offer the signature Innov-X Superior Ergonomic design for performance, ruggedness, portability and versatility required for tough field applications.

•Quickly and easily screen all RoHS metals: Cr, Br, Pb, Hg and Cd
•The lightest weight, smallest, and best-balanced handheld XRF.
•Bright, color display that is easy to read in any lighting conditions - even direct sunlight.
•Touch trigger. No uncomfortable triggers to squeeze and hold. Comfortable “deadman” trigger also.
•Dual display: Angled front display plus rear display for easy viewing of test results.
•Reduce regulatory baggage – no wipe tests, minimal travel restrictions, easy to transport.
•Eliminates the liability of isotope control, improper use, theft and disposal.

Break Free – Take XRF to the Field.

For analyzing complex components, the new Innov-X Handheld Laser-Focus Camera System isolates test areas by placing a test spot down to 3 mm diameter and displaying the image and sample target on the color PDA screen in real-time. It is ideal for evaluating nonhomogeneous parts such as PCB’s where the beam can be focused on a small component, solder joint, lead or terminal. You can switch from collimated pinpoint to full-field analysis with the touch of a button. Snapshot images of samples analyzed plus laser-targeted small-spot analysis are saved as part of your test records. The analyzer can measure up to 25 elements in a single test with pinpoint precision

Need a Portable XRF to Check Light Elements? Innov-X Systems introduces the Innov-X Alpha LZX featuring true mobile vacuum technology. With patent-pending vacuum technology, the same ultra portable XRF analyzer is now able to measure Mg, Al, Si and 25+ other elements simultaneously in alloys, powders, ores, liquids and more! There are no Helium gas or compressed tanks to carry and no vacuum pumps to wear or attach. Available as new analyzers or as an upgrade, this is the most capable, most convenient and most flexible handheld XRF design ever!

Reduce testing time for oil analysis to minutes from days. The SEA-Mate ™ bench top XRF analyzer tests for on-board/on-station compliance with Marpol Annex VI and Sulphur Emission Control Area regulations for measuring a vessel’s operational fuels, lubes and additives. A joint venture of AP Moller-Maersk and Innov-X, it also tests for predictive failures by analyzing wear metals. It’s ideal for shipboard and land-based high power operations using diesel engines.

About Innov-X Systems

Innov-X Systems is a vital force in the x-ray fluorescence (XRF) industry. Their systems perform fast, accurate chemical analysis in seconds to identify, differentiate and quantify most materials by elemental composition. Founded in 2001, they pioneered handheld XRF instrumentation using a miniature x-ray tube rather than radioactive isotopes. Innov-X has rapidly expanded into many other XRF areas. These include the new SEA-Mate™ System for marine on-board fluids analysis; MobiLab X-50, a portable XRF that in comparison to handheld units, delivers higher power and superior performance throughout the periodic table. Innov-X has also taken a leading position in custom XRF and online/automated XRF instrumentation.

With R&D and manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Innov-X has offices in Europe (the Netherlands), and Asia (Hong Kong). They maintain sales and service alliances in Canada, the Middle East, Latin America and worldwide. Service, installation and training is available in over 100 countries.
