Press release from: Imtech (NL)

Gouda / Hamburg - Imtech N.V. (technical services provider in Europe) announces that it has received orders worth more than 85 million euro for total technological solutions for the overhaul and/or expansion of computer and data centres of financial institutions in Germany.

The economic situation in Germany is picking up after a number of years of stagnation and negative economic conditions. Growth in exports first led to improvement in the investment climate in industry, and now the market for buildings is also clearly improving. Imtech Deutschland is one of the strongest players on the German market for technology in buildings. The combination of innovation and the use of multidisciplinary technical solutions leads to an advanced package of services. One of these services focuses on the technological infrastructure in computer and data centres. The growing intensity of digital payment traffic and the strongly increased bandwidth of information flows are prompting financial institutions and financial data centres to invest in overhauling and/or expanding their existing computing capacity and ICT infrastructure.

Imtech provides a reliable power supply, innovative cabling, preventative fire safety, no-break facilities and professional disaster plans. Because of the increased capacity of these centres, heat production is approaching critical limits of as much as 1,400 W/m². In order to process this enormous amount of heat, Imtech is able to find high tech solutions for extra cooling and warmth removal, for example by making use of innovative cooling technology and water circulation. All Imtech solutions are characterised by optimum attention to energy conservation and fit in seamlessly with the primary and secondary processes at these enormous computer and data centres.

Recently Imtech received orders for the technological infrastructure of a new computer centre to be built for the Citibank in Frankfurt am Main. A building combination has been formed with BAM Deutschland for this project. Another large order has come from Fiducia IT in Karlsruhe. Fiducia IT co-ordinates the complete payment traffic and financial information flows for, among others, all German Volksbanks and Raiffeisen banks, as well as a number of private banks. A new computer centre is being built for this purpose. Another large assignment has come from e-shelter, an IT business whose core activity is providing data centre facilities for the co-ordination of payment traffic for financial service organisations and others. Imtech will be expanding e-shelter´s existing computer centres in Berlin and Frankfurt. A smaller assignment is the expansion of the computer centre of the energy company EnBW (Energie Baden-Württemberg) in Karlsruhe.

The assignments from Fiducia IT, e-shelter and EnBW are characterised by rapid delivery over the course of this year. This puts special demands on Imtech´s project management. The Citibank assignment, including the technology in a combined office and service building, will be delivered at the beginning of the second quarter of 2008.

Last year, Imtech also upgraded computer and data centres for Deutsche Bank, Allianz, Landesbank and Postbank Systems.
