The Only Spanish Hip Hop MC Battle Returns
In 2005 we brought together 24 MCs representing New York to battle at Club Exit one of New York 's Premier Night Clubs. After several single elimination battles between MCs from the New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Rhode Island areas. The winner of the evening "Al Stylo" came out victorious after winning round after round of lyrical confrontation.
In 2006 we expanded the number of participants to 64 in order to include a more diverse style of Rappers from a larger area which included MC's from not only NY, NJ, CT, RI & PA but also many from Washington DC, Virginia, Florida, Massachusetts and Los Angeles. Sami Cultura having bested 63 other MC's came out the victor and was taken to Colombia to face off the Finalists from the other countries that participated. The final battle was held in Bogotá, Colombia in the Club Gallístico San Miguel. Once again in single elimination fashion the gallos battled until Spain's Rayden defeated Tek-One of Puerto Rico.
In 2007 we will produce the third Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos and once again take the form of battling to a New level. Preliminaries in New York and Los Angeles will bring MC's from both the East and West coasts to compete in the final to be held in New York City. MC's can now register for this year's batalla at http://www.perrealo.com/batalla/ where they will find information on the battle and also see who else will be battling. The event that has brought thousands of fans and MC's together is now larger and more profound. The winner of this year's Batalla de Los Gallos New York Qualifier will be flown to Venezuela to compete at a chance for the World Championship crown.
