BATO Group Real Estate Investments GmbH monthly newsletter this time decided to concentrate on the upcoming residential spot- Fischerinsel. The Fischerinsel (translated Fisherman Island) is the name of the southern part of the Spreeinsel (translated Spree Island) in the district Berlin-Mitte. It is about an eight hectares area from the Spreeinsel south from Gertraudenstraße, which belonged to the medieval town of Cölln. Since the 1970s the area has been dominated by multi-storey apartment buildings.
Due to its location in the heart of Berlin-Mitte this beautiful corner along the river has been attracting high-class residential projects which are about to turn the glamour it had back in the days.
The other two good news from and for Berlin is that in H1 2012 it kept its1st position as No.1 investment location according to Savills Research Germany. As in the past one and a half years, Berlin was also in the year so far the most popular residential investment destination. In H1 in the German Capital more than 24,000 homes were traded as part of portfolio transactions. Based on all the units traded in Germany, this means a share of 20%. With a wide margin follow Stuttgart (6%), Gera (6%) and Erfurt (5%). With almost 4200 units traded Hamburg is ranked fifth.
In conclusion BATO Group decided to highlight the opportunities of investing in the German office market based on the SWOT analysis by IVG (2012).
