HMI Series: Garz & Fricke announce new products for fairs in Q3.

Two short months before the major spring fairs ELECTRONICA and SPS/IPS/Drives open their gates Garz & Fricke announce a couple of new products. Typically first prototypes will be shown on the trade shows and samples are available only some few weeks later. Scheduled are new devices with ARM Cortex-A8 CPU (VINCELL) and ARM Cortex-A9 CPU (SANTARO) as well as a handful of glass-touch devices of the new SENSO-GLASS Series.

Hamburg, September 3rd 2012. For the past four years, Garz & Fricke offer embedded systems in form of single-board-computers with an installed operating system. Over time the complexity of the products raised and today they provide complete systems with touch-display, housing and customized décor. Thus they fulfill the demands of B2B customers to receive ready-to-production solutions.

Standard interfaces are RS-232, RS-485, CAN, SPI, I²C, Ethernet, USB and a SD card reader. Display and touch are available in several dimensions and technologies. Core versions will be delivered without display for headless designs. Open frame versions with touch-display will be shipped with stainless steel installation frame and back cover. As boxed version the display will be protected by an aluminum front with polyester décor film. Depending on the exact model and its CPU performance, Windows CE 6.0 R3, Windows Embedded Compact 7, Linux or Android can be pre-installed.

The latest platform, VINCELL with Freescale’s i.MX53 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 CPU, will be ready for mass production in spring 2012. There will be new boxed variants with a projected capacitive touch behind float glass or acrylic cover glass. There will be also a new VINCELL LT with 4.3” touch-display.
Furthermore Garz & Fricke will introduce the new product line SENSO-GLASS Series which unite NESO LT (ARM9), CUPID (ARM11) and VINCELL (Cortex-A8) systems with 3 mm cover glass in one family.

For high end applications, the new series SANTARO with ARM Cortex-A9 CPU (Freescale i.MX6x) offer incredible performance. It’s not yet clear, whether all CPU types with 1, 2 or 4 cores can be supported, but at least the dual- and quad-core versions are targeted. In form and function, SANTARO will be fully compatible to CUPID and VINCELL. With SANTARO it will be possible to drive to two different displays at the same time.

Mid of August, the online product area has been updated. New is the product finder which allows searching for products with special features. The announced products will be brought online during the next weeks.
