Bay Area Teen wins Nobell Prize after getting rejected from 30 Internships
No, the title you just read is not false. A teenager from the Bay Area has won the Nobell Prize, but not in a way that you might think. If you read the article title closely, you will see that the word "Nobell" has two "l's", compared to the Nobel Prize that most people will know. That's because the teenager, Teland, created the website www.nobellprize.org as a way to joke around with friends as a fun little gimmick to play with. The website states that the reason for the prize was given as a reward for "for [his] work in never buying, purchasing, borrowing, using, or owning a bell."While creating the website was partially a joke, Teland said that he wanted to have a bit of fun after trying to apply to internships, as it seemed that job qualifications were getting harder and harder to meet. After he got rejected or ignored from over thirty internships that he applied to, he wanted to work on a small project to brush up on his coding skills, while also making something that could get a bit of laughs from friends and family during a tumultuous time.
