Efficient tool planning and management with TDM ensures an increase in productivity

Tübingen, 10 August 2012 - TDM Systems GmbH will be presenting the latest version of their tool data management software (TDM) in Stuttgart at the AMB 2012, the leading trade fair for metal machining. The focus will be on the start-up package "Easy Start with TDM", improvements in tool crib logistics and the new product line "Global Line".

In order to enable a fast and successful start with TDM tool data management software, the Tübingen-based company is offering a comprehensive solution package for an easy project start with TDM.

"Tool data and graphics for the tools used make a significant contribution to the success of a TDM customer project", explains Sales Director Eugen Bollinger. "The well-known tool manufacturers of our group of companies therefore always provide comprehensive tool data and graphics for an Easy Start with TDM. In order for these to be used easily in TDM software, TDM will shortly be introducing a great number of detailed solutions with version 4.6 of its system."

As part of the Easy Start project initiative, these solutions include an optimised catalogue search, the new TDM Tool Loader (is part of the standard software), the import of the new catalogues of the manufacturers Walter AG and Coromant, as well as the option of to download tool data even more easily online. In addition, an optimised search function in the TDM Data and Graphic Generator, with more than 58,000 tool models, completes the product offer.

The best possible tool crib logistics

"Optimum tool crib logistics in manufacturing remains one of the most important aspects of successful tool data management", says Eugen Bollinger, speaking from experience. "In addition to the integration of a great number of lift systems and automated systems, an operation that is as simple as possible has also been included." TDM customers can now look forward to numerous new functions, devices and features in the area of tool crib definitions and bookings.

The new generation of terminal scanners with a completely revised, intuitively operated interface will be there on the TDM booth, as well as a tool crib module assistant, to enable easy tool storeroom definition. In addition, easy-to-operate tablet PC solutions will in the future make tool crib work much easier. They are designed to suit specific customer requirements and facilitate optimum ease of handling and on-the-spot booking.

International access with TDM Global Line

TDM always provides users with the appropriate tool database solution, integrated into whatever may be the manufacturing situation. It ranges from small-scale, reasonably priced to get started offers all the way through to cross-plant, modular total packages. In this process, companies operating internationally require access via a central system. This is made possible by the new "TDM Global Line" product line. It provides a high-performance and future-proof solution for the management of tool items, tools assemblies and tool lists, as well as for tool crib issuing. To facilitate this, the new modules have been designed so that convenience of operation is possible in conjunction with the extensive TDM V4 product portfolio.

TDM Systems will be an exhibitor at the AMB in Stuttgart from 18 to 22 September 2012. The Tübingen-based software manufacturer for managing of tool data and production means will be showing the latest TDM version 4.6, as well as new features and products, on the Walter AG trade fair stand in hall 1.
