Local business owner Quentin Pain, FIAB, is battling to help small businesses get off the ground with a free bookkeeping workshop

Although the current economic climate is somewhat as overcast as the British weather at the moment, the Bank of England is set to try to kick-start the economy with a further cash injection, according to BBC News today (5th July 2012). So, if you have been planning to create a small business this could be a great time to start looking into what you need to do.

"One vital factor, perhaps the most important element in running a company, is getting your finances organised properly" said Quentin Pain. "That's why we are providing a free bookkeeping workshop to try to help people, who are either new to being self-employed or who are owners of small companies, to learn all the basics of how to do their accounts in one comprehensive crash course session, that should be useful for complete beginners and even those who have a good grasp of bookkeeping".

During Quentin's two hour bookkeeping bonanza you will be led through every key element in basic accounting, all explained in plain English.
Quentin's mission is to bring bookkeeping to the people. Over a number of years he has honed a very special method for making bookkeeping
accessible to just about everyone. In his capacity as founder and chairman of local software company Accountz, Quentin is keen to support local businesses as he thinks that is key to Britain's survival in the longer term. "I am determined to do what I can to help make our country great again," he added.

The workshop covers all the important accounting terms and delivers them in a really straightforward way. Never again become bogged down with jargon. Use this session to build and confirm your confidence in being able to show and to understand your company on paper. Learn about the basic chart of accounts and what it really means. See the flow of money through the business and profit from this knowledge.

The bookkeeping workshop that Quentin is providing is being held on 8th August 2012 in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. It is totally without cost but there are only 50 places so if you would like to come along you will definitely need to book to avoid disappointment.
