Infima Technologies Announces world-first JPEG2000 lossless

Infima Technologies Ltd, Announces Infima Image Compression Library v2.0, an evolving set of technologies designed to handle multiple image formats including JPEG2000, JPEGs, and medical images.

One of Infima Image Compression Library key technologies is the development of the world first lossless JPEG2000 compression method that is able to reduce the size of JPEG2000 images by an average of 10 to 20 percent. Existing JPEG2000 compression solutions have all taken the approach of shrinking the size of JPEG2000 files by further reducing the quality of the image, only Infima Image Compression Library can reduce the file size of a JPEG2000 without further degrading picture clarity. Infima's JPEG2000 compression is a true lossless compression technique; images compressed and expanded by Infima Image Compression Library can be seen to be identical copies of the original - pixel for pixel and byte for byte.

The Infima Image Compression Library software development kit provides imaging technology designed to enhance medical and digital imaging applications. Infima Image Compression Library contains low-level C++ libraries providing the fastest compression and decompression engines available. Infima Image Compression Library provides commercially supported software development libraries for lossy JPEG, lossless JPEG, JPEG 2000, and lossless JPEG2000. As well as providing total control over image manipulation, compression, decompression, and conversion.

Infima Image Compression Library also includes unique technologies for the compression of JPEG images by an average of 20 percent while retaining byte for byte reconstruction, providing the fastest compression rate available today, 1.4MB/sec on dual core. As the resolution of today's cameras continues to increase, the size of the JPEG images created has also continued to grow. Infima Image Compression Library offers camera manufactures a way to maximize the memory real estate of their camera. A packed Infima Image enabled device allows more high quality images to be saved within the same memory footprint. In effect, allowing camera vendors to add up to 30% additional storage to their device without the cost of additional memory. For the photo sharing market that stores million of images, Infima Image Compression Library allows them to maximize their server infrastructure and network bandwidth.
