Global ground transport services

Global ground transport services

-This integrated platform aims to become your greatest ally when talking about any kind of ride, anywhere you need it, in the fastest and easiest way. And when they say “any”, they mean it. -

We’re sure you are familiarized with your favorite mobility app by now. You feel comfortable with it, but you are also aware of its limits. What happens when you need to book a ride for a group larger than the usual 6 people allowance? What if you need a WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle)? What about pet transportation? Those niche services are mostly offered through off-line channels, meaning lengthy paperwork.

Things get worse when we talk about hiring these services abroad, having to deal with language barriers and tourist traps in a world with 5.5 billion non-English speakers. None of the most popular mobility apps provides multilingual chauffeur service upon request.

Dan and Gang, two Chinese immigrant Bay Area longtime friends and serial entrepreneurs wanted to change that by creating a unique solution where you can do something so simple yet so comfortable: be able to book any kind of ride you need, anywhere in the world. That’s how Elife was born. While Dan grew a company from 0 to 500 employees and 30M USD in funding, Gang was Director of Software Engineering at eBay.

After a year of development and having to deal with the pandemic-related dramatic decrease in bookings worldwide, Elife took this chance to become a comprehensive, user-friendly ground transportation platform with great results, achieving the business level required to maintain a full-time staff of customer service representatives, and a steadily growing coverage area.

Elife have built a large network of multilingual transportation experts in 150 countries, covering thousands of cities -more than any renowned mobility app- and regions in the 5 continents, using AI to match passengers with drivers who speak their language, solving barriers for non-English speakers. Elife expanded the transport solutions beyond the regular ride: NEMT (Non-Emergency Medical Transport), Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAV), bus rental, special event transportation, pet transport and school transport.

“We wanted to expand our transport solutions beyond the usual town car” Dan expresses “So a passenger could book a coach bus for a field trip with the same ease as booking a private airport shuttle or a limo service. Our array of transport solutions is one of our major advantages.”

Dan also talked about their in-advance booking system “Every one of our drivers knows their daily rides in advance. They don’t have -neither they want- to wait seated for one. That way we eliminate downtimes, helping them being more productive.”

Elife is also a better choice to book large group transportation. “Most people don’t want to deal with a bus rental company, because of the unnecessary paperwork or long time to get a quote” Dan explains “Elife allows you to get an instant quote for any ride you need. In a few seconds you can book the service that best suits your needs and pay a flat rate for it.”

In order to create a comprehensive worldwide transport platform, multiculturalism is a must. Elife it’s still a relatively small team, but congregates people from different countries in America, Europe and Asia. “Even though we haven’t met in person, we consider ourselves a family” Dan states with a smile “Every opinion, plan and idea are considered, placing our passengers and providers in the center of all our strategy. We are a group of passionate people who want to help building a better-connected world.”

If you want to discover the unique set of Elife’s transportation solutions, visit elifelimo.com. They are currently working developing their app “All our services are currently web-based, so our drivers and customers don’t have to deal with updates. We feel comfortable with that” Dan finishes.

Formalities featuring Dan Grayber + Steuart Pittman
Johansson Projects presents Formalities, a two-person exhibition featuring works by Dan Grayber and Steuart Pittman, in which familiar structures and seemingly rigorous forms are born from aesthetic impulse and a higher ambition towards geometric harmony. If machines are inventions that ease the daily burdens of human existence, Dan Grayber's work is the very antithesis of the statement. Grayber creates intricate mechanical objects that are designed solely to sustain themselves, rather
