Millboard cladding and decking provides real distinction

Millboard cladding and decking provides real distinction

Millboard, the high-quality decking manufacturer, is looking forward with confidence to 2021 following a year of solid development. 2020 saw the launch of new products in the shape of the Duospan aluminium sub-frame system and the new Envello range of cladding.

The latter represents Millboard’s first foray outside of decking, so adds a completely new field for expansion of the company’s business. Having launched it towards the end of last year, the company is confident that the Envello cladding will prove as popular as its decking, being made of the same ultra-durable material with its true-to-life wood grain.

Although lockdowns have been reintroduced across the UK, Millboard introduced Covid-safe working processes at its manufacturing bases early on and foresees no obstacles to maintaining its available stock. Although commercial projects have understandably slowed, enquiries from domestic customers, forced to spend more time at home, have boomed as they sought to make the most of their immediate surroundings.

Millboard’s Marketing Director, Caroline Birdsall, says that “Millboard’s products are all about maximising the pleasure to be had from spending time outdoors without leaving home. They need no special maintenance after installation, so they are incredibly easy to live with and enjoy. With eating out likely to be problematic for some time to come, people are instead spending their money on kitting out their homes to gain the maximum benefit from them. That includes the opportunity to enjoy outdoor dining and relaxing.

“The housing market has also stayed surprisingly strong during the pandemic, so features like decking and cladding are popular ways of enhancing a property’s value.

“With these trends likely to continue, and a probable boom in wining and dining once hospitality venues can re-open, we anticipate strong sales in the year ahead.”

As a family-run business, Millboard has been marrying British craftsmanship to the inspiration of nature since 1976. Millboard decking combines the natural beauty of real wood with the high performance of polyurethane, a material widely recognized for its strength. From the initial laying of the unique Lastane surface, right through the pouring of fibre-reinforced resin-mineral filler, Millboard focuses on achieving the finest quality of finish.
