Senor Rio Raises Money for 45,000 Meals Benefiting St. Mary's Food Bank in Phoenix

Jalisco International Imports, Inc. announced that on Thursday, December 31, 2020, Debbie Medina Gach, President and Co-Founder of Senor Rio Tequila, made a donation of $6,456 to St. Mary’s Food Bank. “We are absolutely thrilled to make this donation to St. Mary’s Food Bank. It’s such an important cause to be able to help given the environment we’re in both nationally and globally. We are happy to help out any way we can” said Gach.

In April of 2020, Debbie Medina Gach was interviewed by telephone on Fox 10 Phoenix News regarding surviving as a small business during a pandemic. It was then that she pledged to donate $1 for every bottle of Senor Rio tequila sold at Total Wine & More in the state of Arizona to help feed families. Gach then asked if there may be another company that is willing to match her donation, and although to date she hasn’t been contacted regarding her pledge, Debbie continued and said “it is not too late,” continuing “together we are stronger and can help more families in need.”

Since then, the Senor Rio brand ambassadors in partnership with the Total Wine & More team members sold approximately 6,456 bottles across the 11 stores throughout Arizona. The pledge commenced on April 30, 2020 and ended on December 31, 2020. Given that every $1,000 generates 7,000 meals, the donation of $6,456 will be able to create over 45,000 meals for families in need. “It's a testament really, not just to our Senor Rio family, in partnership with Total Wine & More, but also the wonderful people at St. Mary’s Food Bank,” Debbie added “we feel very blessed to have teamed up with such a great foundation.”

Debbie Medina Gach continues to remind everyone how she is forever grateful to the consumers who have purchased a bottle of her small batch ultra-premium tequila, especially when there are so many brands to choose from. In just her 11th year, this minority woman-owned business has been able to contribute to many great charities because of the loyal Senor Rio tequila fans.
