These consequences not only include an accident, but also legal ramifications.Jason Byrd is releasing this warning after a story out of Rhode Island made national headlines when a 17-year-old had his driver's license revoked for life. The teen was driving with three passengers while intoxicated and crashed his vehicle into a tree. One of the passengers remained in a coma for weeks.
In response to the judge's decision, Mr. Byrd believes that "while this may seem like a harsh penalty, the reality is this teen got off lightly. The consequences of this dangerous driving decision could have been more than just legal. The teens could have died."
The judge intended to send a message to teen drivers that exhibiting reckless behavior while driving, and especially drunk driving, will not be tolerated. Mr. Byrd believes this is an important message to send.
