Suwanee, Ga. (Nov. 10, 2020) – Gwinnett-based competitive baker, Charlise Johnson announces the Grand Opening of a new retail bakery, In My Fillings. The bakery is scheduled to open Saturday, Nov. 14 at 11am and is located at 2855 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd #780, Suwanee, Ga.

Johnson’s new establishment offers a “create-your-own” cupcake concept. Customers select cupcake flavors, then choose from a menu of accompaniments including filling, icing and toppings. “I recognized that we are able to customize many of the items we consider a treat. Everything from coffee to ice cream and donuts have a custom ordering feature. I want to apply the same concept to cupcakes,” stated Johnson.

In My Fillings also offers chocolate chip cookies, vegan peanut butter cookies (gluten-free) and ready-to-serve 6" Strawberry or “Birthday Bling'' cakes, all of which are made from scratch and baked fresh daily.

The bakery features a family-friendly environment, complete with seating, a television and beverages. “Right now COVID-19 restrictions limit some of what I can offer, but I want this to be an environment where our community can feel comfortable stopping by with their families and sharing treats with friends. I love seeing people happy and cupcakes and cookies bring smiles,” said Johnson.

In addition to opening the bakery, Johnson is currently competing on Season 2 of Food Network’s Holiday Wars, a 6-episode weekly competition series that began airing at 8 pm on Nov. 8. In the baking competition show, teams of contestants compete to determine best taste, design and creativity for a $25,000 grand prize.
Johnson is not new to baking competitions. She has also competed on the Food Network's Cake Wars and finished 2nd in the 2016 season.
Johnson studied Computer Science at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has made her home in Gwinnett county, where she worked full-time as a database developer, pursuing her baking interests part-time since 2013. The menu and pre-order form for In My Fillings can be found at www.inmyfillings.com. Online pre-ordering is available as well as delivery through Postmates. Regular hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 am – 7 pm; Friday and Saturday from 11 am – 10 pm; Closed on Sunday.
