Bjorlee Museum Window Replacement

HomeRite of Baltimore LLC successfully completes window replacements at the historic Bjorlee Museum

Baltimore, MD. April 5, 2012 – HomeRite of Baltimore LLC (HomeRite) proudly announces the successful completion of window replacement work at the Maryland School for the Deaf, Frederick Campus, Bjorlee Museum. The work was performed under a contract with Maryland’s Department of General Services (DGS). A Final Completion Certificate was issued by the Department of General Services (DGS) on February 8, 2012.

The contract work included the replacement of 42 existing wood windows. From start to finish the work was completed in four days. DGS officials stated that they were “extremely pleased” with the quality of the workmanship and the expedited schedule. Officials initially anticipated 2-3 weeks for the installation.

The Bjorlee Museum contains historic furnishings and documentation and as such required a window glazing system with maximum UV protection. HomeRite chose their Distinction Series 1650 double hung window with Climaguard 55/27 glazing. The enhanced glazing system will provide enhanced UV protection for the lifetime of the window. The contract also required caulking on the project to carry a 10 year warranty. As such, HomeRite utilized Tremco’s Tremglaze U1600 Polyurethane caulk. Finish work included painting of existing wood framing and aluminum capping of all exterior exposed surfaces.
