European champion Jochen Hahn puts his trust in Kögel

Kögel swap bodies provide professional support to the Race Truck Team

Kögel is stepping in at the side of the Castrol Team Hahn Racing in the new season of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship – the highest European class in truck racing. The third biggest trailer manufacturer in Europe recently entered into an agreement with the European Championship team from Altensteig for close long-term collaboration. The team is getting a turntable semi-trailer from Kögel together with two swap bodies completely made to measure to the team's requirements.

The robust swap bodies will help the team to deal with the logistics and representation tasks of the racing season in an optimum manner. One of the swap bodies serves as a transport and stores solution for the catering sector. The walls are made of sandwich panels from the new Kögel Competence Centre in Duingen. The swap body will have air-conditioning for the summer months. The second swap body is provided for the service team to use as a store for spare parts and it also houses a separate office and rest-room area for the European Champion Jochen Hahn. The stepladders mounted on the swap bodies come from Günzburger Steigtechnik GmbH.

Normally box body vehicles by Kögel serve forwarding companies to fulfil the strict requirements of goods forwarding for dry goods and temperature-controlled logistics. They are use primarily for the transport of sensitive goods where protection of the load from environmental influences and theft is of importance.

"We are proud to be able to welcome Kögel to our team as another renowned partner“, says Jochen Hahn, reigning European Champion and driver in Castrol Team Hahn Racing. "As a private team we are particularly reliant on such strategically important partnerships because they are of decisive significance both from a technical aspect and in marketing in our continuing success."

"In order to be amongst the top teams in the future, partnerships like the one with Kögel are indispensable", added Team Boss Conny Hahn.

"The collaboration with Castrol Team Hahn Racing provides the perfect opportunity of presenting our trailers to all truck fans all over Europe in the best setting", says Eva-Maria Pohl, Marketing Manager at Kögel. "We are naturally very happy that the reigning European Champion has chosen the best quality, not only for his racing truck, but also for his trailers.

Kögel, a brand with a tradition going back more than 75 years, and which has achieved first place throughout Europe, is once again at the centre of things with their unmistakable experience and competence. With the takeover of Kögel in 2009, Ulrich Humbaur assumed an active entrepreneurial role which gave the brand the stability and continuity it deserves. This is further consolidated by the very sturdy equity ratio that Ulrich Humbaur has made available to his companies. Kögel has reinvented itself – by returning to the strengths which formerly made the company great: A passion for transport. Quality characterised by engineering. Innovation which is worthy of this name because it brings relevant customer value. And the reliability of an owner-led family company with long-term perspectives. In addition to products for the forwarding industry we now have versions for the construction industry, a field which is not entirely new for Kögel.
