DC Jazz Festival Announces 2012 Travel Package
“We have been enthused about the considerable number of out-of-town fans who have attended the Festival in prior years,” said DCJF Executive Producer Charles Fishman. “This year, thanks to the generous support of the Washington Marriott Wardman Park and Amtrak, we anticipate an even larger number of tourists who will be treated to dazzling performances by such renowned artists as Dianne Reeves, Jimmy Heath, Roy Hargrove, David Sanchez, Les Nubians, and John Scofield, among many others.”
This year’s signature concert, Jazz Meets the Classics at the Kennedy Center, will feature National Endowment of the Arts Jazz Masters Paquito D’Rivera, Kenny Barron and Ron Carter, along with the Classical Jazz Quartet presenting jazz interpretations of Bach, Chopin, Mozart, Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky.
