L.I.T. goes with Kögel for volume transport in the automotive sector

Kögel Mega P55: Three metres loading height and just four metres total height

L.I.T. AG, with its headquarters in Brake, is extending its fleet with 50 new height-optimised Kögel Mega units. The volume miracle from the Swabian trailer manufacturer is thus playing an important role in the strategic growth strategy of this logistics, information and transport specialist. The trailers will be used mainly in the Just-in-Time business of the automobile industry.

The Kögel Mega P55 is ideally suited to the execution of volume transport. In addition, it meets the permissible overall height of four metres with a usable internal height of three metres and a semi-trailer coupling height of 91 centimetres. The Kögel Mega P55 uses an intelligent combination of tyre choice and a reduction in the semi-trailer throat from 90 to 55 millimetres to optimise the height – whilst retaining stability. A tare weight starting at 6.4 tons means that high levels of payload are possible.
The usable internal height of three metres makes the volume miracle the ideal trailer in the automotive sector. Loading and unloading stacked pallet cages is simple thanks to the standard mechanical-hydraulic lifting roof. This increases the side and rear through-loading height to three metres. The DIN 12642 Code XL certification means that no additional load securing is required for form-locked loading.

L.I.T. Special Equipment
The 50 new L.I.T. trailers for the automotive sector are equipped in accordance with Daimler guideline 9.5. This includes pallet stops and end wall doubling amongst other things. For safe ramp loading, additional support fixtures with mechanical lifting and lowering are mounted behind the axle unit. In addition, the trailers are fitted with RoRo equipment, with four pairs of heavy-duty lashing rings, for accompanied marine and ferry transport. For rapid and convenient coupling, the Mega trailers are also fitted with the Duo-Matic system in addition to the standard coupling heads.
