The Parkinson Research Foundation will be presenting a conference to provide Parkinson’s disease patients and caregivers in Southwest Florida with an opportunity to learn about the latest drugs and treatments for Parkinson’s disease that will enhance their lives. A secondary objective is to provide a forum for patients and caregivers to share their concerns and successes with Parkinson’s experts and other local patients. Dr. Juan Sanchez- Ramos received his Ph.D in Pharmacology and Physiology from the University of Chicago, completed his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Neurology at the Michael Reese Hospital, University of Chicago and his fellowship at the University of Miami. Currently, Dr. Sanchez-Ramos is a professor of Neurology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and holds the Helen Ellis endowed Chair for Parkinson’s disease research. He’s the Director of Stem Cell Research, Center for Aging and Brain Repair, in Tampa, Fl. Dr. Sanchez-Ramos’s current research projects include movement disorders, the neurobiology of adult tissue stem cells, and DNA repair mechanisms in aging neurons. At the conference, he will be talking about Non-motor Symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and Treatments of the Future.

This 1-day program will have general session presentations throughout the day, exhibition sessions during the sponsored breaks and a question and answer session at the end of the day for full interaction and discussion between participants and speakers.
