Chris Lucas, CEO of The Actor's Detective, and author of the recent book "The Actor's Detective Guide To Writing Show Business Contact Letters" will spend Oscar night, Sunday February 26th, writing letters to all the nominees in the major creative categories (Actors, Actresses, Supporting Actors/Actresses, Directors, Writers, Producers, etc.) By the time all the golden statues are given out, he will have composed over 100 letters to Oscar hopefuls and winners.

As Lucas points out in his book, letter writing is a lost art in this age of texting and tweeting. For someone to receive a letter, as old fashioned as it might seem now, is like a breath of fresh air. For notable celebrities and show business power players, even more so. Letters stand out get noticed.

"The Guide To Writing Show Business Contact Letters" was originally published as a response to aspiring actors who were seeking to advance their careers by writing letters to producers and directors, but just weren't sure what to say to them. It's become so much more than that. Lucas has gotten feedback from charity donation departments who tell him that they've found the book useful when writing to celebrities to solicit items for their fundraising events, parents and teachers who say that the book is an excellent teaching tool for letter writing campaigns or lessons, and fans who just want to write to their favorite stars, but are frustrated at the lack of responses. This book helps get results.

Lucas knows from personal experience that the methods laid out clearly and humorously in his 42 page ebook work. He has used this process of writing letters to help him, among other things, book starring voice-over roles in a series of best selling video games, and in the last film of an Academy Award winning director. He's also gotten personal calls from major stars and political figures, raised millions in donations for a charity in his home state of New Jersey with celebrity items and appearances, and is now co-producing a film starring a recent Oscar nominee. All from writing letters.

After writing the 100 plus letters Sunday night, and then addressing the envelopes, Lucas will have his own private Oscar "after party" watching the winners drink champagne on TV while he rests his hand in a bucket of ice.
