Integrated systema All for One into Smartphone based dictation

The Dr. Becker Heinrich Mann Clinic in Bad Liebenstein, Germany, and the dictation experts from Westerkappeln, also Germany, jointly integrated the hospital information system systema All for One into the worldwide proven Smartphone based dictation system dictate on demand mobile. The exceptional thing about this project was that the integration took place entirely without the support of the hospital information system vendor systema Deutschland GmbH .

In the Dr.Becker Heinrich Mann Clinic, which is specialized in neurology and orthopedics, physicians and their teams help rehabilitation patients with proven competence and many years of experience. In addition to 200 rehabilitation beds, the hospital has 51 beds in the neurological early rehabilitation phase B as well as a ventilation station. This is a unique portfolio in Thuringia and a real distinctive feature for the clinic. As a clinic with the latest equipment, Dr. Becker, the Heinrich Mann Clinic offers patients a wide range of services, combining therapeutic expertise with excellent service and quality of care. The professional physiotherapeutic services are provided by the attached PhysioGym.

Michael Schiffgen, Managing Director in Bad Liebenstein: “Here in Bad Liebenstein, we deploy the Smartphone based dictation solution dictate on demand mobile from DictaTeam on 4th generation Apple iPod touch devices throughout the whole clinic. With this solution, we could replace the old cassette-based dictation devices and compared to traditional digital voice recorders we were able to save 50% of the costs for the new investment in digital dictation. Simultaneously, the internal documentation processes have been streamlined considerably.”

Streamlining Documentation Processes

Dictate on demand combines the advantages of three devices in one in a 4th generation iPod, iPhone or iPad.

dictate on demand mobile installed on an Apple iPod touch, iPhone or iPad is a real alternative to old fashioned premium voice recorders. This means, that with a modern and up-to-date device the physician can dictate anywhere at any time. Dictate on demand mobile can be integrated directly into a hospital information system, just like a classical, digital, stationary dictation microphone. This way demographic information such as e.g. Patient´s name, date of birth, patient no. and case n. can be transferred error-free online from the HIS-database. The dictation is automatically assigned to the right folder.

Via WLAN or a public radio data process, as for example GPRS, UMTS, HSUPA or LTE, - depending on the device- the dictations can be transferred to the secretary immediately. This completely eliminates unnecessary ways to a PC or charging station and the physicians have more time for patient care.
In addition, with the cutting-edge devices many more usage synergies are possible. Not only dictate on-demand mobile can be used on the mobile devices, but many more features are equally usable with only one hardware investment:
- Mobile Visits / Electronic File
- Red List
- Yellow List
- Pschyrembel
- Voice over IP instead of parallel investments and operating costs in DECT-Telephony
- Jan Gburczyk, IT Manager at the Dr. Becker Heinrich Mann Clinic adds: “Together with DictaTeam we managed to integrate systema All in One within two man-days. As desired by us, WLAN has been introduced simultaneously. “

Raising Performance, Cutting Costs

With the dictate on demand mobile dictation solution integrated in systema All for One physicians eliminate unnecessary ways to the PC or unloading station in order to transfer dictations to the secretary or external typing service of DictaTeam. You gain time for essential tasks, the treatment of patients. Staying with the motto "set and forget", by simply pressing a button the dictation will be sent encrypted automatically.

Beate Seidel, managing partner of DictaTeam UG (haftungsbeschränkt) adds: “Through our modern integration technology dictate on demand connector we managed to save the Dr. Becker Heinrich Clinic more than 30,000 € just for the necessary interfaces.”

DictaTeam offers Smartphone-based digital dictation systems and German transcription service for health care and judiciaries.
