A sports startup borne from need and built during Covid, Fixture Calendar is a business that is finding success in the growing excitement about the return of sport.
For sports fans, have you ever looked for a single source of information about your favourite sport, or for accurate kick-off times or curated links (think news articles, tickets, podcasts, merchandise...)? Or maybe you're planning a trip and want to find out what's on in your destination next year.
Even for non-sports fans, have you ever needed to organise an event or a wedding around a major sporting event? 2021 is already packed with major events that have been postponed due to Covid, so plan carefully! will become your go-to source for fixture information. From cricket to cycling, Manchester United to Miami Dolphins, and Wimbledon to the Ryder Cup, Fixture Calendar will tell you who is playing, where and at what time.
Think of those "This year in sport" double-page spreads that you'd rip out of the newspaper every year and put on your wall... but digitised.
The team at Fixture Calendar had to pivot their business quickly when the pandemic hit. They've been working hard to keep up with the changing sports landscape. As fans themselves, they know how important it is to be accurate.
The best bit for us? It's free and you don't get pestered by pop-up ads!

I would scour local news articles
The brainchild of Will David, the Fixture Calendar idea came about as an "obvious" solution to a problem many of us encounter: How to plan around sport.
"I have searched for kick-off times so often in my life", says Will, "and there was never a single, accurate source of information for all sports that I could rely upon.”
“I would hop from local news articles to team websites to find times and dates. Half the time they were wrong or inconsistent. Don’t get me started on the confusion around timezones across different sources!”

From the ashes of Covid
When the pandemic hit, the travel business that Will had spent years building was put out of action. For a while, he was heartbroken, but Will realised that it was actually the perfect time to build the tool that he had always needed.
"I was missing sport. I realised that - as soon as sport is allowed back into our lives - there are probably millions of people like me who would be searching for fixture information."
"Everyone I spoke to loved the idea. There was a sports niche that nobody was catering to."
"I put a tech team together and built the kind of product that I would like to use - clean, accurate and simple. I really believe it will be useful to so many people out there, from sports fans to party planners."

Exciting times
Will promises that the Fixture Calendar has so much more to offer down the line. The Fixture Calendar team are busy adding more sports, more curated links and useful features that will make the site a staple sporting hub for many people.
“We’re so thrilled to bring this tool to sports fans around the world.”, Will adds, “We’re going to keep making it better too, with an app and more features planned. It is exciting times for our team and for sports fans alike.”
