IGEN ENERGATHON CONFERENCE

It is great to see so many enthusiastic participants celebrating digitally 50th International EarthDay 2020 throughout the world.

On this occasion IGEN and its partner organizations joining 50th EarthDay celebration through “13.36 Hours 40 Speaker“ virtual conference titled “ENERGATHON 2020” . ENERGATHON 2020 enlightened with technical talk, Technical debate, Panel discussion, Live Case study presentation , feedback on participants , which all connected with UN sustainable development goals.

The conference was hosted by Dr.J.Balamurgan and co-hosted by Er.S.Selvakumar , Scientist &Er.D.Gokuland supervised by Dr.L.Ramesh. Everyone were physically segregated geographically apart and operated with the minimal resources available in their home with one laptop and with the available network connectivity. The theme was clearly read out by Scientist D.Gokul, followed the program agenda and program schedule was thrown to audience by Dr.L.Ramesh, Founder & President of IGEN.

Padma Shri Dr.Mylsamy Annadurai, NDRF, Chairman IE India ,Chandrayaan 1&2 ,Project Director and Former Director,ISRO inaugurated the conference and delivered inaugural address. It was followed by Guest of honor speech by another eminent and program coordinators from the World Earth Day Foundation namely Ms. KarunaSingh ,Regional Director ,South Asia Earth Day Network and Mr. Ajay Mittal, Director,Climate Change India and South Asia -Earth Day Network.

The program categorized under the SDG goals were discussed with our 40 eminent speakers

THEME 1 – SDG GOAL 6: Clean Water and Sanitation & GOAL 13: Climate Action was delivered by Dr.DanielChellappa -Eminent Nuclear Scientist Chennai , Er.Sundarrajan- Poovilangil Nanbargal and Er.A.PeterRajan - Chemist(Rtd)/TNEB, PETERS

The valedictory address of the conference ENERGATHON 2020 was presented by Er Ramdoss, Chairman IE India Tamil Nadu State Centre and Dr Jayarajan, Chairman, IE India Tiruvallur Local Centre.

The conference ended with fruitful outcome of 13.6 hours continuous live stream of lectures and discussions with 40 speakers, 10000 participants with live watch at IGEN SDGplus channel.
