Press release from: Zetane Systems

[Montreal, Canada; June 18, 2020] Zetane Systems, a Montreal-region technology company, announced today receipt of funding from the Innovation Assistance Program (IAP) provided by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP). The funds serve to maintain the company’s research and development activities at full capacity despite disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The competitive selection process identifies the company’s current potential for growth as a key factor when determining funding decisions. Zetane is one of several small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the country to receive support from the program. Economic uncertainty has forced many businesses to cut back on high-risk research and innovation projects. The Innovation Assistance Program meets a vital need to support technology SMEs like Zetane for three months to remove impediments to innovation or stalled research projects.

“Canadian innovation remains strong despite the current economic ups-and-downs thanks to initiatives by IRAP. Their continued support of Zetane will ensure our mission to provide software tools to accelerate the adoption of AI in enterprise and industrial processes remains on track,” said Guillaume Hervé, CEO and Co-Founder of Zetane Systems.

Full steam ahead in promoting innovation in artificial intelligence

Zetane Systems earmarks the IAP funding for their continued development of a suite of software features that streamline the making of artificial intelligence technology by their clients and integrates with ease into pre-existing workflows. Top priorities at the company remain focused on strengthening the Zetane software product for distinct stakeholders so businesses can implement AI technology more effectively.

One focus is to fine-tune an immersive and visual workspace for AI professionals that simplifies data processing, provides better methods to explain the inner workings of algorithms and expedites finding weaknesses in (aka, “debugging”) AI models. A second focus is the further development of features to enable professionals outside the domain of AI, such as clinicians and business leaders, to better collaborate and contribute to AI projects; the need for input from domain experts outside of the AI sector is increasingly the norm when developing the technology within business applications. Part of this initiative will advance their software’s current capacities to display prototypes of AI models in realistic simulations so domain experts, government regulators and enterprise decision-makers can better understand AI innovations prior to their deployment. As part of their ongoing research, Zetane Systems is now conducting closed beta trials for these new features where interested parties can request to participate as a beta tester on the company’s website.
