French indie game developer Shiro Games leverages Tencent Cloud’s technology to bring Northgard and Darksburg closer to its Chinese players.

The company around the CEO, Nicolas Cannasse is well known for its creative gameplay and agile development style. “We see huge potential in the Chinese gaming market, with it already being the second largest market for Northgard.“ says Nicolas, and emphasizes that “to improve the user experience of our Chinese users we decided to engaged with Tencent Cloud Europe to leverage their infrastructure that is built to host and run some of the most popular games over the world.” With its Northgard player base increasing in China from 6% in 2017 to 11% in 2019 Shiro Games is optimistic that besides all challenges, their new game Darksburg will be a big success in China as well.
The cooperation between Shiro Games and Tencent Cloud includes the utilization of a Cloud Connect Network (CCN). Tencent Cloud’s CCN provides a full-mesh interconnection service to build cross-regionals multi-point interconnection in and outside of the cloud. The product’s intelligent scheduling and routing learning feature helps to create a fast, stable, and cost-effective full-mesh interconnected link that perfectly for the high network speed requirements of online games. “The cooperation between Shiro Games and Tencent Cloud Europe is an important first step for us to show our support and to help the very innovative and creative European indie game developers in their efforts to conquer the Chinese market.”, said Florent Point from Tencent Cloud Europe who is responsible for this project.
Both companies are looking forward to deepening the cooperation in the future with new games already being in the pipeline for the near future.
