Armed with a degree in sociology and a postgraduate certificate in corporate communications, Caroline Pigott, owner of FlourishVA and chief “wish granter”, launched her business with over eight years of communications, marketing and administrative experience.

A successful freelance writer, Pigott first realized the need for outsourced business support while working as a contract communications consultant.

“After completing my education, I found myself working as a contractor, providing marketing, communications and administrative support for specific company projects. I would often find myself working from home because of a lack of office space and onsite resources.” She says, “I worked for many small businesses that needed outside support but didn’t have the resources or revenue to hire someone on full-time.”

As both an entrepreneur and mom, Pigott realizes that women business owners in particular aren’t allowing themselves the time to enjoy both their business and home life.

“I recognize that it can be scary to let someone in to a dream that has taken blood, sweat and tears to build. But, outside support is what will help build that dream and launch it to the success you deserve.” Says Pigott.
