LITIGATION ATTORNEY GARY BETENSKY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE AMERICAN JEWISH COMMITTEE - PALM BEACH REGION

West Palm Beach, FL – December 27, 2011 – Litigation Attorney Gary Betensky, a shareholder with the law firm of Richman Greer, P.A., a Miami and West Palm Beach law firm offering a wide range of litigation and business-related legal services, has been elected President of the Palm Beach Regional Office of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), the global leader for advocacy on behalf of the Jewish people and Israel (www.ajc.org).

Betensky’s goals for the Palm Beach region, which includes 1,200 members, donors, leaders, and participants, are to “engage those who are disengaged” through educational programming, community briefings, and debate on the issues of the day. Betensky has been involved with the organization since 2006 serving as a Board Member and then President-Elect in 2010.

Board Certified in Business Litigation Law, Betensky maintains a civil trial, business litigation and appellate practice concentrating in complex commercial litigation and business disputes, with extensive experience in matters related to non-competition agreements and trade secrets, real estate, employment, disability insurance and torts.
Active in the community, he is Chair of the Professional Ethics Committee of The Florida Bar, Co-chair of the Remedies Subcommittee of the ABA Section of Litigation Business Torts Committee for 2011-12, former Chair of The Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee in and for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit (Palm Beach County) and is a member of the Board of Governors of Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center. He was also appointed by the Palm Beach County Bar Association to the Palm Beach Judicial Campaign Practices Commission which monitors the campaign practices of judicial candidates.

Betensky has been named a Best Lawyer in America in the area of commercial litigation and as a Florida Super Lawyer in the areas of business litigation and intellectual property. He is admitted to practice in all state courts of Florida, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
