An exciting opportunity to debate about “The Future of Real Estate Investments”

Wiesbaden December 14, 2012 - The EBS Real Estate Congress will take place at the EBS campus Schloss Reichartshausen in Oestrich-Winkel for the 13th time on 24 February 2012. The annual event has now established itself as the central conference in the German real estate sector, offering all those interested in the industry a unique platform to exchange ideas and to network. With around 700 expected guests not only the real estate industry in Germany will discuss the topic “The Future of Real Estate Investments” at the event 2012.

An introductory speech will be delivered by Paul Jörg Feldhoff, Founder and Managing Director, FMS Feldhoff Management Services KG, and Professor Dr Nico B. Rottke, Founder and Managing Director, EBS Real Estate Management Institute. The organizers will highly appreciate the keynote speaker Professor Dr Dr hc mult Wolfgang Franz, Chairman of the German council of economic experts, and president of the centre for European Economic Research (ZEW).

Besides the keynote speech the one-day event includes six lectures and five panel sessions presented by moderators. The different panel discussions will address issues like “The specific implications of Solvency II on investment strategies for institutional investors”, “Prospects of real estate investment vehicles“ or “Family offices as important real estate investors”. Some expert sessions will focus on “German real estate market – Return of international investors?” and “A new way of thinking: the investment manager in real estate”. After the discussions there will be enough time to clarify all questions.

The 5th Aareal Award of Excellence in Real Estate Research

The EBS Real Estate Management Institute and Aareal Bank AG, Wiesbaden, will award the Aareal Award of Excellence in Real Estate Research for the 5th time. The annual research prize, advertised internationally, honours academic excellence in real estate economics. A total of more than 45 papers were submitted for 2012. Almost half of the entries came from outside Germany, especially from Asia, North America, France and Turkey. Just around 30 experts, including professors in the national and international EBS Real Estate Management Institute research network, assessed the work on this year’s topics: “Residential Real Estate”, “Real Estate Economics” and “Real Estate Finance”. The award is worth Euro 12,000. The award ceremony will take place on the campus of the EBS Universität, in Oestrich-Winkel during the 13th EBS Real Estate Congress.

The 13th EBS Real Estate Congress is an entirely non-profit event aiming to bring together the real estate finance and investment industry and to promote research and education. This year it will be supported by Aareal Bank AG, Aberdeen Immobilien Kapitalanlagegesellschaft mbH and FMS Feldhoff Management Services KG.

In 2006 Professor Dr. Nico B. Rottke established the Real Estate Management Institute (REMI) at the EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Oestrich-Winkel. REMI offers training and continuing education in real estate economics at the highest level. At the same time it fosters real estate research. The EBS Universität operates as one of the largest economics faculties nationwide and is the first to have a Chair of Real Estate Economics.
