Press release from: Nadrich & Cohen, LLP

Los Angeles, CA, December 6, 2011 -- Nadrich & Cohen LLP, a prominent national law firm, has established a new website geared towards helping Actos users who developed bladder cancer after taking the drug. Visitors to the new site, www.SideEffectActos.com, can find the latest updates, news and information on the Actos bladder cancer litigation.

The link between Actos and bladder cancer first came to light in September 2010, when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration published the results of a ten-year research study which indicated that patients who used the Type 2 diabetes drug were more susceptible to bladder cancer and other serious side effects. In June 2011, the FDA issued new warnings advising physicians and patients that using Actos for more than a year could substantially increase the risk of developing bladder cancer.

Since the new warnings were issued, approximately 3,500 Actos users have filed lawsuits in state and federal courts against Takeda Pharmaceuticals, the Japanese maker of the drug. A number of the lawsuits have been consolidated into a multidistrict litigation which will be heard in federal court. The FDA is conducting an ongoing safety review of Actos side effects but as of yet, there are no plans to recall the drug in the U.S.

Actos has already been pulled off the shelves in both France and Germany, citing the link between the drug and bladder cancer. Despite these actions, the European Medical Agency continues to support the use of Actos to treat Type 2 diabetes in adult patients when other treatment methods prove ineffective.

The law firm of Nadrich & Cohen is currently investigating Actos bladder cancer claims from patients in all 50 states. The firm created www.SideEffectActos.com in an effort to reach out to even more Actos users nationwide who’ve experienced serious side effects after taking the drug. In addition to finding a wealth of resources and information, visitors to the site can also complete a confidential online contact form to schedule a free initial case evaluation.

If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with bladder cancer after taking Actos, don’t hesitate to contact the experienced Actos injury team at Nadrich and Cohen today. Our Injury Hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-800-722-0765. We are eager to discuss your claim and we are committed to helping Actos bladder cancer patients get the compensation they’re entitled to.
