Press release from: Nadrich & Cohen, LLP

Los Angeles, CA, November 30, 2011 – Prominent national law firm Nadrich & Cohen, LLP is reaching out to women across the country who have been injured after receiving a transvaginal mesh implant. The firm is currently offering free initial case evaluations to women who’ve suffered serious vaginal mesh side effects.

Vaginal mesh is a medical device used to treat certain conditions in women, including incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. It’s estimated that approximately 300,000 women receive a transvaginal mesh implant each year. More statistics and information about vaginal mesh can be found at the firm’s new website, www.VaginalMeshLegalClaims.com.

In July 2011, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a safety warning about the use of vaginal mesh. Following this announcement, hundreds of lawsuits have been filed against vaginal mesh manufacturers, including the Johnson & Johnson Company. The women who filed the claims allege a wide range of adverse side effects, including severe abdominal pain, scarring, infection, painful intercourse and blood vessel damage. These serious conditions are believed to be caused by the shrinkage and/or movement of the mesh as it adheres to the body’s tissues after implantation.

Some of the vaginal mesh lawsuits have been consolidated in a multidistrict litigation. Trials are scheduled to begin in some of these cases in November 2012. The FDA is continuing to monitor the safety of vaginal mesh, although no recall has yet been issued. In November 2011, The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS) issued a joint recommendation supporting the limited use of transvaginal mesh.

If you or someone you love has been injured by vaginal mesh, the law firm of Nadrich & Cohen is available to discuss your claim. Our expert team of vaginal mesh injury attorneys can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1-800-722-0765. If you’ve received a vaginal mesh implant but haven’t experienced any serious side effects, visit www.VaginalMeshLegalClaims.com to get more information about these medical devices as well as the latest news and updates about the pending litigation.
