Press release from: Halo Publishing International

Houston, TX (USA), Monday - November 21, 2011 -- Professional business manager Douglas Bartley continues to educate another generation of leaders with his new book A How-To Manual on Human Resource Problems. A retired University of Texas professor, Bartley’s previously published text book, Job Evaluation: Wage & Salary Administration, was used by about 250 universities and business schools. He hopes his new business resource, available through Halo Publishing International ( http://www.halopublishing.com ), will be used in classrooms throughout the world to teach students how to succeed as managers, and also at companies, small and large, to assist them with improving their management techniques.

"In his new book, Douglas Bartley shares his expertise and success in improving company human resource and business management efforts," said Publisher Lisa Umina. "A How-To Manual on Human Resource Problems will help businesses managers do a better job that will lead to a more successful operation, and teaches a new generation of managers to run companies efficiently and effectively," Umina said.

Born in Pinkneyville, Illinois, a small town about 60 miles east of St. Louis, Bartley said he learned at a young age that he needed an education to succeed. He also learned early in life how to cope with sadness after both his twin brother and mother died in separate years. Bartley was raised by his aunt, who he said provided a very loving home. He went to college for two years before serving in the World War II as a navy officer. After the war, Bartley earned degrees in education and business at the University of Illinois and University of Pittsburgh, and spent much of his career managing various operations throughout the world for the Heinz Company. He later worked as a consultant in Human Resource and Factory Management for 35 different companies in 17 countries. Bartley said he earned good marks in college, was an accomplished athlete and worked two jobs most of his life. He also married his wife, Ruth, and they have two daughters and a son.

"I hope to share my expertise to help others succeed in business," Bartley said. The author has been a regular contributor to professional trade journals throughout the United States and has received numerous awards for his work and contributions in education. Bartley now resides in Elmhurst, Illinois.
