International Piano Competitions are, nowadays, far below in importance compared to what they have used to be. You will discover a lot of players and in most cases the thrilling excitement dies out before you know it. This stays accurate with regard to even a number of most significant competitions, much like the Van Cliburn, the Queen Elizabeth and the Gina Bachauer.

Maurizio Pollini's accomplishment and continuation immediately following winning the particular Warsaw Chopin Competition in 1960, is without question, history now.

Infrequently, now, one can witness a performer rising from music competitions and being able to "be there" even after twenty or more years of winning a prize. But the "high-end" competitions noted earlier on, nevertheless, have a relatively more substantial rate associated with forming the classical music industry by discovering true talents. Yet, as in all piano competitions, not every session brings ground-breaking discoveries.

The Bachauer competition held in 1991 ended up being the jumping board for a Turkish born Belgian pianist: Mehmet Okonsar.

On the intercontinental distribution networks of amazon.com(r) and its affiliates, many of the performances which will confirm Okonsar as a key figure in the classical piano playing, come direct and also un-cut from the stage of the Symphony Hall of Salt Lake City and offered as a CD: "Mehmet Okonsar Live at Salt Lake City"
