Travel Restrictions Index

Travel Restrictions Index

Citizenship, immigration and passport advisory firm, HF Corporation, has released its report on travel restrictions imposed by countries, across the globe, amid corona virus pandemic. The report titled 'Travel Restrictions Index' provides the readers with restrictions imposed by more than 150 countries, and territories, on incoming travelers amid this unprecedented situation. This comprehensive report also takes into account the entry restrictions announced by different overseas territories or regions that implement their own entry rules, independent of the main countries they are linked, or associated, to. Information has been sourced through different reliable sources - including Ministries of Interior, Health, Foreign Affairs and other relevant authorities of different countries. In cases, where direct information from authorities could not be sourced, the firm has gathered relevant information from other reliable sources:

To keep readers apprised of new and latest information, the index is being updated frequently, and more countries are being added. HF Corporation is also the curator of Travel Convenience Index, a report that comprehensively analyses the passport power of countries that offer citizenship to foreign investors.

Travel restrictions are an integral part of almost every government's strategy to stem the outbreak, and rightly so. As social distancing can prevent transmission of the virus, therefore, people are advised to stay home and travel around the world has come to a grinding halt.

''As a client-centric and research-oriented firm, we undertook the formidable task of curating this important report in order to keep readers apprised of the important travel restrictions being implemented globally,'' commented Dr. Hussain Farooq, President and chief citizenship specialist at HF Corporation.

''Some countries have put blanket bans on commercial flights while certain countries are allowing essential form of travel. Maldives, in general, is considered to be one of the most liberal visa regimes for inbound travelers, as all nationalities can obtain a visa-on-arrival in the country, under normal circumstances. However, this pandemic has even caused Maldives to suspend visa-on-arrival for all nationalities with effect from March 27, 2020. In Schengen States, for instance, there is a lot of cross-border movement between Belgium and the Netherlands. Since March 18, 2020, Belgian authorities put a ban on non-essential travel abroad, including to the Netherlands. The Belgian authorities, then, introduced a COVID-19 sticker to allow frontier workers in vital sectors and crucial professions to cross the border. So, in a world, where travel regulations of the countries are changing rapidly, this report aims to provide the readers with valuable information. This, of course, is not a substitute for official travel advice but it is one of the most comprehensive reports compiled on this topic by the private sector'', concluded Dr. Farooq.
