CHD Developers launches “Komal Ankur” – a drive to protect girl child and our environment

In its constant endeavour to give back to the society, CHD Developers Ltd. launched a social sensitization campaign “Komal Ankur”. It aims to spread awareness about two of the most alarming issues ailing the society today – environment conservation and the protection of the girl child. The project connects the issues of environment and girl child collectively to motherhood, and focuses on social sensitization towards the issues. The Chief Guest, Mr. Mukul Kumar, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Karnal along with Mr. R.K. Mittal, Chairman, CHD Developers Ltd. planted the first tree of the campaign. More than 10,000 trees will be planted by CHD Developers which will be spread to other parts of Karnal apart from CHD City.

CHD is amongst the first in Karnal to take such an initiative to strengthen the two weak aspects of India- female foeticide and environmental problems. On the occasion, Mr. Mittal said, “There is a need to sensitize general public on the importance of nature conservation and the need to increase the green cover in our surroundings. Also, we have always believed that is imperative to protect our girl child and work for her upliftment. If we have to ensure social development we ought to protect the girl child and the environment. In accordance to this, we have initiated this awareness campaign in CHD City Karnal.”

Around the world millions of girls continue to remain marginalized. The saplings planted would be nurtured and linked to the growth and maturing of the girl child. This activity is to signify the efforts for supporting the cause for upliftment of the girl child and free her from the social stigmas of violence, illiteracy, and modern slavery.

Mr. Mittal added,” “India is increasingly participating and becoming aware of the vices which pull us back. Through these small yet heart-touching gestures CHD wants to constantly remind the people that we need to continuously work towards these causes. We are confident that over a period of time, we will involve more and more people to work for these causes.”

Mr. Gaurav Mittal, Managing Director, CHD Developers Ltd also expressed his views stating, “This is just the beginning of the massive Green Drive in Karnal by CHD. We believe that we do not need a particular day to carry out such programmes and that it’s our social responsibility to work collectively towards a better environment and towards a socially relevant cause. The hand that rocks the cradle, the being that shapes a home & civilization, the future mother and the trees, nature’s most precious gift to humanity need protection for sustenance of life. We plan to take this cause forward by planting more tress in other areas of Karnal as well. “

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mukul Kumar, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Karnal said, “Planting trees is the best way to maintain an ecological balance and it becomes equally vital for developing areas like Karnal to be more concerned about environment. This initiative by CHD is unique because they are not only planting trees but also spreading awareness about an equally important cause of the protection of the girl child. I congratulate them for taking up such a great initiative for spreading awareness about these important issues. I am happy that the start of this tree plantation drive by CHD City has been a success and I hope that this endeavour of theirs will continue in the future”

An adverse gender ratio and depleting forest cover are the two concerns which are hindering the growth of our country. Initiatives like these will motivate people to ponder and draws attention to these two issues.
