Providence, Rhode Island – The Ocean State, despite its small size is home to numerous world-class manufacturers according to Industrial Leaders, developer and organizer of AMSN. Today, the company introduced Rhode Island Machine Shops into its network in effort to bring manufacturing jobs back to the Ocean State. Industrial Leaders officials said it developed a 'Machined in New England' program which includes offerings for custom machined precision parts, CNC/NC, Swiss-style & manual machining, metal spinning, screw machine products and other jobbing shop services. Industrial Leaders said the program targets companies throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine and Vermont.

Companies throughout New England in need of custom-made precision parts are able to compare local and national vendors on the AMSN website at http://www.mfgpartners.net/custom-precision-machined-parts

Over 1,000 vendors specializing in job & machine shop services are profiled on the site according to Industrial Leaders, which created the marketplace to help promote US-based manufacturers with emphasis on made-to-order products at http://www.mfgpartners.net/machine-shop-service

According to Joseph Payne, spokesman for ILG, the suppliers profiled on the American Machine Shops Network are capable of meeting all types of custom manufacturing needs from machined parts & components in small & large production runs to rapid prototypes, fabricated metal items, plastic molds, castings, turned parts and other custom-made products & services. Payne said the jobbing shops on the site are fully equipped with CNC lathes, vertical machining centers, Swiss type lathe, C.N.C. horizontal machining centers, screw machines, centerless grinders & other grinding equipment as well as gundrilling machinery, precision honing machine, inspection systems and a wide variety of other equipment.

“The Machined in New England program was brainstormed by AMSN founder Donald LaBelle in effort to bring work to local machine/job shops based in or around Boston, Providence, Portland, Hartford, Manchester, Worcester, Burlington, Nashua, Springfield, New Bedford, Fall River and other cities throughout New England,” said Payne. He concluded, “The idea of the program is to bring local companies and organizations together and educate them on the benefits of doing business locally to support local communities.” Payne went on to say Industrial Leaders first launched its 'Buy American' campaign back in 2003 in effort to sustain and create jobs in the manufacturing sector of the United States by helping U.S. manufacturers do business internationally. Details of the movement is available on the ILG website.
