Cynthia Fleury Now in the Light Space & Time Artist Showcase
Cynthia Fleury is a Twin Cities, Minnesota based fine art photographic artist. She creates artistic interpretations of seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes, floral, still life, travel and digital art. Her passion is experimental photography and creative processes and techniques such as infrared photography, light painting, digital hand coloring, HDR, and creative Photoshop techniques. Cynthia has studied art on and off over the years and has painted in acrylic, oil and watercolor.
Cynthia states that “I envision my efforts to capture on print, the beautiful visual impact of the world around us. If the viewer achieves a feeling of quiet serenity and a sense of beauty in this challenging world, I have achieved my goal as an artist. I strive to bring beauty with the interplay of color, light and composition whether in color or black and white.”
Her interest in photography as an art form began in 1998 when she studied photography at Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her digital artistry began in 2004 when digital image capture became a more viable art form than traditional film photography. Now, the camera has replaced the paintbrush and the photograph the canvas.
She goes on to say “as a former painter in oils, I compose my photographs as if I were doing a painting. My approach is more artistic and intuitive rather than technical. I am truly inspired by nature and its beauty and majesty as well as the natural manmade forms of bridges, arches, gardens, sculptures, and walkways. I believe that photography is an art form that if successful evokes a positive emotional response in the viewer.”
