Since the rate of breast cancer cases has been increasing and with that a growing rate of mortality associated with the disease, there is a need for early detection and treatment. The GHIT Fund's current focus areas include visceral leishmaniasis, malaria, TB and Chagas disease and many other diseases, which directly contribute to the Japan women health diagnostics market.

The overall population of Japan in the year 2017 was around 124 million and the population of females was 4 million more than males. The total population of women is more than men in Japan, this increases the rising health care services for women.
