hina’s leading international electric power exhibition – The 2011 International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology and 2011 International Exhibition on Electrical Equipment (also known as EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2011) unveils on September 21 at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, Shanghai, PR China. Organized by China Electricity Council and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, this giant expo of China introduces a series of advanced equipment and cutting-edge technology on power T&D and hot topics on Smart Grid, energy-saving as well as the emerging market trends.

The Opening Ceremony is well-attended by high profile representatives from the power group and power grid corporations of China. Mr. Wang Zhi Xuan, Secretary General of China Electricity Council stated the mission and duties of the power industry development and its innovations on technology. In the 2011 China Smart Power System Seminar, China Electricity Council delivered report on the index for power generation of 2010 and first half year of 2011, major index for 200MV or above thermal power generation auxiliary equipment manufacturers of 2010, and index for 200kV or above power transmission and substation equipment of 2010 and first half year of 2011, etc. for the industrial players’ valuable information. According to the research and development analysis by China Electricity Council, electric power industry will undergo a long term development during the 12th Five-year Plan period. In the coming 10 years the power production scale will reach 9.3 GW, with more than 9000 KW annual production and thus requires power generation equipment supply ability with 1.2 GW; with the production scale of 890 thousands kilometer long cable in 110 kV or above over the country and substation capacity of 48 GkV. All these precipitate China a huge market with worldwide attention. During this period, the Chinese government has announced the country’s target for energy efficiency and carbon-emission control that the power industry would be more attentive to green energy technology and its applications, towards a new stage for nationwide interconnection, ultra-high voltage, smart grid, west-to-east power transmission, high efficient clean coal power generation, renewable energy, development and applications of energy conservation technology.
